Cultural and Wellness Support
The Montreal Lake Cree Nation Detox Program integrates cultural and wellness supports to promote healing of the mind, body, spirit, and emotions. Cultural supports may include access to Elders, traditional teachings, land-based connection, and opportunities to participate in culturally respectful practices. These supports help individuals reconnect with identity, strengthen resilience, and support their recovery journey in a safe and respectful environment.
Our approach recognizes the importance of Cree culture, community, and traditional knowledge as essential components of wellness and long-term healing.
Referrals to Treatment programs
The Montreal Lake Cree Nation Detox Program provides referrals to ongoing treatment and wellness programs for individuals who wish to continue their recovery journey. Staff can assist in connecting individuals with appropriate treatment centers, counselling services, cultural supports, and community-based programs.
Referrals are made based on individual needs, preferences, and eligibility, with the goal of supporting long-term healing, stability, and wellness.
Intake Assessment
All individuals entering the Montreal Lake Cree Nation Detox Program will complete an intake assessment to ensure services are appropriate and safe. The intake process includes gathering basic information, discussing current needs, and identifying any immediate health or safety concerns. This helps staff determine the most appropriate level of support and develop a plan that respects each individual’s circumstances, privacy, and wellness goals.
Intake assessments are conducted in a respectful, confidential, and non-judgmental manner.
